These observations have permitted concluding that no radical changes in benthic communities occur with amounts of chloroform-extracted substances of about hundredths of a gramm per 100 g of dry sediment. Degradation of benthic communities is observed when the content of these substances is about tenths of a gramm per 100 g, but if the concentration is expressed by gramms per 100 g the macrozoobenthos is practically absent.ru
