This species differs by well developed prostatic part, by the position of the genital pore on the level of the pharynx, by a significantly shortened, compared to bursa, genital athrium. L. bothryophorum (Olsson, 1868) from the North-East Atlantic fishes is redescribed. Aponurus argentini Poljansky, 1952 is reduced to a synonym L. bothryophorum. L. anteroporum Margolis, 1958 in Campbell and Munroe, 1977 is considered to be a new species — L. campbellmunroei. L. neocytti Tkachuk, 1979 is redescribed; this species is reduced to a synonym L. sphaerolecithum (Manter, 1925). The genus Lecithophyllum, in the author’s opinion, includes 5 species.Трематоды рода Lecithophyllum Odhner, 1905 — паразиты морских и океанических рыб.
