The character of metabolic processes was judged from radiocarbon (¹⁴C) accumulation and excretion by the fish tissue lipids after a single intraperitoneal injection of 1-¹⁴C-acetate. Seasonal differences in the character of lipid metabolism are found only in those tissue where accumulation of reserve lipids does not occur (Scorpaena porcus L. muscles and Spicara smaris L. liver). In the prespawning period the level of lipid metabolism in the muscles of Scorpaena porcus L. was considerably higher, and that in the Spicara smaris L. liver was on the contrary lower than in the period before wintering. The seasonal differences are due to the functional peculiarities of the fishes during the periods under study. In the Scorpaena porcus L. liver and Spicara smaris L. muscles, the main lipid depots of these fishes, seasonal differences in the lipid metabolism are insufficiently pronounced. This is connected with the fact that lipid metabolism in the examined tissues was stabilized during the periods under study: in the prespawning period the lipid reserves have not been used yet, and in the prewintering period accumulation of the reserves has been completed.ruОсобенности липидного обмена в тканях скорпены Scorpaena роrcus L. и смариды Spicara smaris L. в преднерестовый и предзимовальный периоды годового циклаPeculiarities of Lipid Metabolism in Tissues of Scorpaena porcus L. and Spicara smaris L. in the Prespawning and Prewinter Periods of the Year Cycle
