Abstract (description)
The finding of G. improvisa and G. minuta in the north-western part of the Pacific is the new one for these species. The maximal depth of the vertical distribution of both species — 5390 m—(Japanese hollow) significantly outvalues the depths recorded earlier for these species. G. improvisa and G. minuta are independent species well separated from each other. G. improvisa differs, from G. minuta in the presence of large sized papillae densely set on the base of the introvert and on the posterior body end of the animal. The presence of the papillae in G. improvisa and their absence in G. minuta are the most important taxonomic characters on the basis of which these species are separated from each other.
