The process of hydrocarbons’ accumulation by Mytilus galloprovincialis L. mussels collected in the Black Sea bays with different pollution degree has been studied. This process is shown to depend on the degree of the initial mollusks’ pollution by oil hydrocarbons and on the physiological state Associated with the deficiency of nutrients. The accumulation of individual alkanes is determined by the chemical properties and composition of the pollutant.
