| dc.description | On the basis of ethological parameters characterizing mobility, the optimum volume is determined for keeping six species of plankton Crustacea from the Indian Ocean under laboratory conditions. The average values of total metabolism are obtained under the copepod greatest mobility. The found differences in the intensity of total metabolism depend on the degree of locomotor activity to a greater extent than on the body mass and quantity of the consumed food. For copepods moving by jumps the metabolism level depends directly on the velocity of motion. The obtained values of total metabolism are compared with the standard ones for the same species taken from the literature. The total metabolism is at an average 2-5 times as high as the standard one. Such comparison is shown to be conditional because of great diversity of the applied methods under measuring the respiration and body mass. On this basis a conclusion is made that at present there is no real idea of the metabolism values for the planktonic animals. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | При наибольшей подвижности шести видов планктонных ракообразных из Индийского океана получены средние величины общего энергетического обмена. Отмеченные различия в интенсивности общего обмена в большей степени зависят от степени локомоторной активности, нежели от массы тела и качества потребленной пищи. Проведено сравнение полученных величин общего энергетического обмена со стандартным у тех же видов по литературным данным. В среднем общий обмен в 2—5 раз выше стандартного. Показана условность такого сопоставления из-за большого разнообразия примененных методик при измерении дыхания и массы тела. На этом основании сделан вывод об отсутствии в настоящее время реального представления о величинах общего энергетического обмена у планктонных животных. | en_US |
