Description
Energetical cost of swimming (ECS) (cal/g/km) has been calculated for 21 species of fish on the basis of author’s and published data. ECS depends on body weight\and to a lesser extent on the species. ECS is connected with speed of swimming. The values of ECS are the highest at slow and fast speeds. Optimal speed with minimal ECS has been determined.
