| dc.description | Benthic species representing all the orders and suborders of pennate diatoms have been studied in culture. In spite of variety of gown features cells of all species can rise to the surface of the medium where they are able to multiply with the same growth rate on the bottom and under the medium surface. The cells rise to the medium surface is considered to be the manifestation of their transition from benthic location to planctonic one in the sea. | en_US |

Несмотря на различия в характере роста, клетки всех видов могут всплывать под пленку поверхностного натяжения среды, где способны размножаться с такой же скоростью, как и на дне. Всплывание клеток в культурах рассматривается как проявление их выхода в планктон в условиях моря. | en_US |
