Rates of energy metabolism of juveniles of Black Sea mussels Mytilus galloprovincialis are well related to temperature regimes of sea water. Rates of oxygen consumption were maximum due to a high summer temperature of sea water. Coefficient Q10 in the temperature range 6-13 °C was 1.95; coefficient Q10 in the temperature range 13-23 °C — 2.06. Juveniles of the mussels have shown a more temperature tolerance than adult molluscs.
