Tapeworms have complicated lifecycles that imply active movement of larvae and adult worms inside a host. Morphological and functional analysis which would lead to the understanding what organs and tissues cestodes use to perform their repertoire of movements was done. Plerocercoid of Nybelinia surmenicola from the Japan Sea was studied using light and electron microscopy. Anatomy of nervous system has a complicated structure with several neuropiles that allow it to coordinate the harmonious work of inner muscular bundles, rhynchal system, bothriae and skin-muscular sac. Inner muscles form a special protective “muscular ring” around four proboscises and the brain.
