Abstract

Description

The activity of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH, EC 1.1.1.27) has been studied at different temperature of the enzyme incubation in the cytoplasm of tissues of two species cold-water fishes — Scophtalmus maeoticus maeoticus and Platichthys flesus luscus in spring and autumn. The activity of enzyme decreases in the following order: white muscles — red muscles — gills — gonads — liver. It equals to 0,7631—5,3585, 0,1860—2,0931, 0,0814—0,3946, 0,0338—0,3854 and 0,0035—0,0284 μmole/min•mg respectively. It depends on the temperature of the enzyme incubation and the season. The activity of LDH occurs in correlation with intensity of metabolism in tissues, the natural fishes mobility level, stage gonad maturity and temperature conditions of species habitations.
