(Biol.), Professor, and the winner of the State Prize of Ukraine (Science and Technology) who has recently celebrated his 80th birthday. The recognized expert in marine sanitary hydrobiology, for several decades he has been ruling the Department of Marine Sanitary Hydrobiology in the Institute of Biology of the Southern Seas, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Dr. O. G. Mironov represents the 2nd of the four generations of the Mironovs who have been working at IBSS since the 1930s. The profile indicates most significant moments in his life and scientific career that began when the little boy came to assist his father in the institute’s laboratory.
