Аннотация
Исследовалась выживаемость мидий в условиях загрязнения морской воды различными сортами нефти, мазутом и в сточных водах нефтебазы. Отмечается высокая по сравнению с другими бентосными животными выносливость мидий к нефтяному загрязнению, что позволяет ставить вопрос о возможности использования мидий в комплексной биологической очистке морской воды от нефтепродуктов.

The survival rate of mussels was investigated under conditions of sea water contamination with different sorts of oil and mazut and in wastes of an oil bulk plant. Two dimensional groups of mussels — 15-25 mm and 7-14 mm long — were investigated. Oil in quantities 0.01, 0.1, 1.0 and 10.0 ml/l was added to sea water. The results of the researches showed that all the sorts of oil are similar with respect to their toxic effect. Mazut possessed the strongest action than all the kinds of oil. In wastes of the oil bulk plant presenting partially purified ballast waters of the tankers the mussels lived from 2 to 20 days. Young mollusks survived better than adult ones. In the region of wast outlet into the bay the mussels lived more than two months till the end of the experiment, their growth for this period being normal. A relatively good endurance of mussels with respect to oil contamination permits the question to be put on their possible utilization in a complex biological purification of sea water from oil products.
