Description
The paper elucidates the pedagogical activity of academician S. A. Zernov (1871-1945), a founder of home hydrobiology, and his role in creating the first hydrobiological department in Timiryazev Agricultural Academy in the USSR. The activity of the department is described, and its best graduates who have become prominent scientists are noted.
