| dc.description | As a result of observations during 25 light stations of the R/V "Akademik Vernadskii" in the Carribean Sea in November-December 1970, it was found that squids. O. pteropus occur everywhere in the pelagic zone outside the limits of the continental shelf. They are scattered over the whole aquatorium as single individuals or in small groups. No squid stocks were found. A population consists of small individuals (average length 20.5 cm, average weight 400 g). Females are larger than males. Sex ratio 1 (males) : 14. An analysis of size-weight and sexual structure gives grounds for isolation of the Cartibean population as an independent biologically isolated population. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Наблюдениями на 25 световых станциях в Карибском море, выполненных научно-исследовательским судном «Академик Вернадский» в ноябре — декабре 1970 г., обнаружено, что кальмары O. pteropus встречаются повсеместно в пелагиали за пределами континентального шельфа. По всей акватории моря они держатся очень рассеянно, в одиночку или небольшими стаями. Скоплений этих кальмаров нигде обнаружить не удалось. Популяция представлена мелкими особями (средняя длина 20,5 см, средний вес 400 г). Самки крупнее самцов. Соотношение самцов и самок — 1 : 14. Анализ размерно-весовой и половой структуры дает основание для выделения O. pteropus, населяющих Карибское море, в самостоятельную биологически обособленную популяцию. | en_US |
