Abstract
Description
The Black Sea algae Cystoseira crinita and Ulva rigida were used to study in experiments kinetics of 131-J accumulation from the environment containing iodides and iodates, its subsequent removal and reaccumulation of chemical 131-J forms previously removed by these macrophytes. It is shown that various chemical iodine differ in accumulation coefficients: they are considerably lower for iodates than for iodides. Values of accumulation coefficients for iodides and for iodine forms removed by macrophytes proved to be similar. An assumption is advanced that sea algae concentrating different amounts of various chemical iodine forms transform and remove them in the same form.
