| dc.description | This work is a continuation of a series of works on the history of geographical research in the North Caucasus. The article analyzes materials devoted to the study of nature, natural resources, and the population of the region. The importance of the works that laid the foundation for the formation of scientific geographical ideas about the North Caucasus, the role of academic expeditions of the second half of the 18th century, which influenced the development of science not only in Russia, but throughout the world, is noted. | dc.description.abstract | Настоящая работа является продолжением серии работ по истории географических исследований Северного Кавказа. В статье проводится анализ материалов, посвящённых изучению природы, природных богатств, населения региона. Отмечается важное значение работ, положивших начало формированию научных географических представлений о Северном Кавказе, раскрывается роль академических экспедиций второй половины XVIII в., повлиявших на ход развития науки не только в России, но и во всём мире. Показано, что результаты академических экспедиций заложили основы для развития новых научных направлений, в том числе кавказоведения, и развития в дальнейшем региональных исследований. | en_US |
