Abstract

Description

Monitoring of macroscopic characteristics of the epizootic status of the Black Sea turbot spawning populations in the south-western shelf of Crimea showed that significant part of the adult fish presented the grossly visible signs of diseases (ulcers, fin erosion, neoplasms). The most common diseases during 2007-2016 were multifocal skin ulcers of different etiology (14,5%) and fin rot (5%). Tumor-like neoplasms were found only in 2007-2012. Improved epizootic situation in 2014-2016 is supposed due to decreased population density as a result of overfishing.
