dc.descriptionEight species of euphaisiids of Tropical Atlantic have great differences in the lipid composition. These differences are condition ed by the rate of locomotion activity (carnivorous and filtrators) and the length of migration. So, carnivorous migrants have higher content of total lipids, main lipid and phospholipid fractions such as polyenic fatty acids contents in phospholipids (at the expense of 22:6w3) and monoenic acids in triacylglycerides (at the expense of 22:1) than slightly migrating filtrators (or only move through a small vertical range).
