The analysis of splitting among the descendants of the first generation, including complete sibs, in 28 single pair matings of mussels Mytilus galloprovincialis with radial shell stripes and striped mussels with no-striped ones, independently of the main colour, shows that the indication is determined by single twoallelic gene with prevailing allel «available stripes«. The frequency of striped phenotypes of mussel settlement in Laspy Bay (the Southern Coast of the Crimea) does not depend on the depth of the place of inhabitance.
