As a result of investigations made in the northwestern region of the Cuban bench, data are obtained on the specific composition and numbers of the zooplankton, as well as on the distribution of the seston biomass. In the zooplankton composition of the northwestern part of the Cuban bench during September and December 1964, 84 forms were identified, some species were not identified. The Copepoda group represented by small species is the largest in the zooplankton. It was found that the numbers of zooplankton and the seston biomass decrease normally in the direction from the coast to the open sea. During September and December maximum zooplankton is registered in the layer of 0—50 m and the minimum is registered in layers below 100 m.
