A wide range of investigations is reviewed in the article. They were carried out by the Azov-Black-Sea Research Institute of Fishery and Oceanography in 1971-1975 and were aimed at detecting productive regions in the Indian Ocean, studying biology of commercial objects, evaluating their resources.
