| dc.description | Primary production was measured by the radiocarbon method following Yu. I. Sorokin’s scheme. Phytoplankton photosynthesis intensity at the sea surface ranged from 0.4 to 59.3 mg of C per m3, and in the photic layer, from 0.021 to 2.676 g of C per m2 per day. The highest primary production values were obtained in the upwelling zones on Pakistan shelf and off the north-western extremity of the Arabian peninsula. The maximum production was recorded in the Indus run-off area and the Gulf of Cutch region. Photosynthetically active phytoplankton concentrated mainly in the 0 to 25 m layer. The lower boundary of photosynthesis was found at 50 to 75 m depths. Primary production to phytoplankton biomass correlation coefficient for the sea surface is +0.72±0.059. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Первичная продукция измерялась радиоуглеродным методом по схеме Ю. И. Сорокина. Интенсивность фотосинтеза фитопланктона на поверхности моря колебалась от 0,4 до 59, 3 мгС/м3, в слое фотосинтеза — от 0,021 до 2, 676 гС/м2 в сутки. Наиболее высокие величины получены в районах подъема глубинных вод на шельфе Пакистана и у северо-восточной оконечности Аравийского полуострова. Максимальные показатели продукции зарегистрированы в районе стока р. Инд и зал. Кач, минимальные в центральных районах моря. Фотосинтетически активный фитопланктон концентрировался в основном в слое 0-25 м. Нижняя граница фотосинтеза отмечалась на глубине 50-75 м. Коэффициент корреляции между величинами первичной продукции и биомассой фитопланктона для поверхности моря равен +0,72±0,059. | |
