Abstract

Description

Life form of fishes is considered to be a complex of adaptations to swimming. Each adaptation is described with a functional-morphological coefficient (K) that means a morphological coefficient coupled with a hydrodynamic function. «K» is suggested to be connected with energy — Q = a Kb. This equation is considered as a taxonomic feature. Indicator «b» characterizes a process and is defined as energetic evaluation of «K». On the example K = h/l', where h — a body height and l — a body length, it is shown that intraspecific ecomorphes (high-bodied, low-bodied) of Carassius auratus gibelio (Bloch) species are differed in swimming by 30 %.
