Аннотация
Изучали пелагические остракоды из зоопланктонных проб, взятых в Южной Атлантике в субантарктических водах (CAB) течений Фолклендского и Западных ветров, в субтропических (СТВ) — Бразильского течения и во Фронтальной зоне (ФЗ) — на их стыке. Установлен видовой состав остракод (33 вида). Для CAB характерен комплекс видов, отличный от такового в СТВ. Массовыми в CAB были виды: С. serrulata. С. elegans — большая форма, С. obtusata antarctica, С. teretivalvata — большая форма; в СТВ — С. elegans — малая форма, С. spinirostris, С. teretivalvata — малая форма, С. curta, С. procera. Во ФЗ обнаружены виды, характерные и для CAB, и для СТВ. ФЗ оказалась наиболее богатой по числу видов (28; в CAB — 13; в СТВ — 25) и обилию остракод (до 198 экз/м3; в CAB — до 105; в СТВ — до 69).

Peculiarities are stated in species composition and quantitative characteristics of ostracods inhabiting subantarctic (the Falkland and West wind currents) and subtropical (the Brazilian current) waters and zones of their interaction (the South subpolar front). The subantarctic waters are inhabited by such abundant species as C. serrulata, С. elegans (large form), C. obtusata antarctica, С. teretivalvata (large form); the subtropical waters are featured by С. elegans (small form), С. spinirostris, C. teretivalvata (small form), С. curta, С. procera. The frontal zone is found to simultaneously contain representatives of the both waters (subantarctic and subtropical). The frontal zone appeared to be the richest in species number (28; 13 — in cold-water currents, 25 — in the Brazilian current) and ostracods abundance (as much as 198 specimen/m3; 105 and 69 specimen/m3 in cold-water currents and in the Brazilian current, respectively).
