Certain Ecological-Biochemical Indices of Molluscs Resistance to Pollution

Аннотация

Аннотация (alternative)

The activity of enzymes of aminated alanin and aspartate aminotransferase (AIAT and AAT) and of those of fenite catabolism stages of malate and lactate dehydrogenase malate carbohydrates (MDG and LDG) is determined in tissues of gastropods and lamellibranchia taken in bays with different pollution degree. The change in the activity of enzymes and especially in the ratio of AAT/AIAT and MDG/LDG activities depends on the bay pollution degree. Biochemical biological and toxicological studies have permitted distinguishing two groups of molluscs: more resistant to pollution (tritia, pitar and chamelia) and less resistant ones (polititapes, cerastoderma and ceritium). The mechanism of molluscs’ resistance to pollution conditions are discussed.
