Аннотация (alternative)
Results of the first comprehensive investigation of marine organisms and biocoenoses of Island coastal waters are presented. A high biological diversity, numbers, and biomass of lithophagous plants and animals are discovered. The presence of many species into the Red Data book of Ukraine and the phenomenon of “insular gigantism” are noted. A protection status for coastal Island’s waters is proposed.
