The essential differences in the types of assimilated carbon distribution along the profile of a lamina in Laminaria saccharina fronds have been revealed as dependent on the level of water mobility in the habitat. When the water mobility is small, in fronds dwelling there assimilated carbon flows from the lamina edges to its centre, from the top to the base. In fronds dwelling on the breakers littoral carbon is distributed along the lamina profile vice versa.
