| dc.description | The total amount of bacterial population in the euphotic zone of the regions studied varied within a wide range — from 318 to 4922 thou cell/ml. As a rule, bacterial density in the underlying 100-500 m layer was several times lower. A tendency is marked for bacteria distributed along the zero meridian section (30°00-41°57 S. L.) to increase their number from the north to the south. The greatest amount of bacterioplankton is found in the waters of the Benguell current in the upwelling region in the south-east of the tropical belt near Africa (st. 390, 392 and 394), as well as in the subantarctic waters (st. 427). These regions are similar to eutrophic ones relative to the development of bacterial life. Vertical distribution of the total amount of bacteria in the water mass of the regions studied considerably depended on the water structural and dynamic peculiarities and corresponded to biooceanographic characteristics of the regions. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Излагаются данные о вертикальном распределении общей численности бактерий в юго-восточной части Атлантики. В распределении бактериопланктона на разрезе по нулевому меридиану (30°00'—41°57' ю. ш.) отмечена тенденция к увеличению численности с севера на юг. Наибольшее количество бактериопланктона обнаружено в водах Бенгельского течения у побережья Африки и в субтропических водах. Величины общей численности бактерий в эвфотической зоне этих районов превышали 1 млн. кл/мл. В остальных районах исследования численность бактерий составляла сотни тысяч клеток в 1 мл. | en_US |
