Description
To determine statistic reliability of differences in profiles of the vertical distribution of phytoplankton production the vertical changes of production are suggested to be described by the depth function. Coefficients of the suggested exponential equation under certain conditions reflect the production value maximal in profile, vertical weakening of the production and the degree of light saturation of photosynthesis in the surface water layer. Differences in the vertical distribution of phytoplankton production in the Danube (in the territory of the USSR) and in the Sasyk reservoir are shown to be statistically reliable.
