Abstract

Description

Energy level of resting and standart metabolism of marine fish with different mobility, such as: (Mugill auratus R.,), (Spicara smaris L.), (Mullus barbatus ponticus, Esipov), (Scorpaena porcus L.) was studies. To make the fishes immovable they were narcotized with uretan. All data were adduced to the temerature of 20°C. Rate of oxygen consumption of narcotized fish was taken as basal metabolism, while the rate of oxygen consumption of non-natcotized fish — as standart one. Experiments showed that energy level of both resting and standart metabolism depended upon fish mobility, and the higher the fish natural activity the higher the energy level. The lowest energy level is typical of Scorpaena porcus, the highest — of Mullus barbatus ponticus, all the rest fish relative to energy level are in intermediate position. Mobile quick-swimming fishes are characterized by more expressed dependence of metabolic intensity on body weight, i. e. the amount of consumed oxygen per unit of weight of these fishes increases quicker than that of fish species of small activity.
