dc.descriptionWe present the results of studies of the phytoplankton composition and quantitative development in the Marmara sea eastern part, in October 1996. Dependence of the phytoplankton distribution on hydrological characteristics of water masses is shown. The mechanism of penetration of suspended and dissolved organics with CIL (cold intermediate layer) waters into deep-sea layers is presented. We outline the necessity of further studies of the main link between marine ecosystems, photosynthesizing algae, all over the sea aquatorium and under various hydrometeorological conditions.en_US
