General information is given concerning the results of the 5th, 10th and 11th cruises of the research ship «Academic Vernadskij» of the Sea Hydrophysical Institute of the Ukrainian SSR Academy of Sciences which took place in 1971—1975 in the tropical zone of the Indian Ocean. Investigations of currents in the Black and Caribbean Seas are elucidated as well.
