An analysis of 142 processed zooplankton samples showed that there are no distinctions in the plankton productivity in various parts of the investigated region, and the plankton composition and distribution are monotonous in all cross sections. At the end of experiments it was established that 30 species of various zooplankton groups have luminescence. The specific features in the nature of the luminescence pulses are not pronounced. In the vertical distribution of luminescent organisms the maximum of luminescence occurs at a depth of 50 m.
