Геохронологическое исследование поступления 137Cs в донные отложения северо-западного шельфа, континентального склона и глубоководной части Черного моря

Resulting from radioecological monitoring conducted since the Chernobyl accident, the map of 137Cs distribution over the Black Sea sediments is plotted. The field of sediments with the highest 137Cs content is occurred within the near Danube seabed. The age of the sediments layers as well as sedimentation rates were calculated from 137Cs vertical profiles in the top of the near Danube seabed (11 mm • yr-1) and the NW Black Sea slope (2.2 mm • yr-1) The sedimentation rates calculated from 210Pb/226Ra profiles shown the much lower values at the some cores. This could be due to the upward mobility of 210Pb within the sediments thickness probably caused by the redox cycling of iron as well as the variability of particles deposition in these sites. The results obtained have allowed us to reconstruct the chronology of 137Cs inputs to the NW Black Sea sediments over the last decades.
