The paper analyses peculiarities of the shape of the delphin body (Delphinus delphis ponticus Barabasch and Phocaena phocaena relicta Abel) which make this body create lifting force when moving in the direction of the longitudinal body axis. The fact of the creation of this force was modelled in an experiment. The creation of the supporting force by the body seems to be inherent to many necton animals.
