Applying the concepts of V.A. Vodyanitsky with regard to comparative thalassographic study of biology of seas of the Mediterranean basin it has been demonstrated that abundance of zooplankton tended to increase from the Mediterranean to the Black and the Azov Seas in conformity with the enhancing nutrient content. About a hundred species never found earlier in the Mediterranean Sea have been recorded, 30 of them identified as new for the science. Patterns of species, size and trophic structure varying between zooplankton communities have been determined for the Mediterranean Sea system.
