Uptake and loss of 137Cs by different types of the estuary bottom sediments have been efperimentally studied. Clay deposits are characterized by the highest 137Cs concentration factors (755), while fine-dispersed sand — by the lowest ones (79). All the sediments studied have low desorption ability (up to 4% of the accumulated amount of 137Cs).
