Helminthofauna of Trachurus mediterraneus ponticus varies with the host's age. Helminthofauna of Trachurus mediterraneus ponticus varies with the host's age. Infestation takes place at the stage of fry with the body length from 1 to 2 cm. The so-called fry parasites inhabite fry up to the age of one year. Beginning from this age it takes helminthes, which compose the base of its helmintho-fauna in the future life. Qualitative and quantitative changes of the helmintho-fauna were observed with variation in its spectrum of nutrition, ecology and biology.
